AGT Precision Machining runs two 5-axis machining centres in St. Catharines, Ontario — a HAAS UMC-750 and a Mazak Variaxis 630-5X with automatic pallet changer. We machine complex geometry, compound angles and multi-sided parts in a single setup.
Cutting five sides of a part without re-fixturing removes stack-up error between setups, so features stay in true position relative to each other. It also shortens lead times on parts that would take several operations on a 3-axis machine.
Why 5-axis for your parts
When a part has features on several faces, holes at compound angles, undercuts or sculpted surfaces, 5-axis machining lets us reach them all in one clamping. The result is better positional accuracy, better surface finish from shorter tools, and fewer operations to pay for.
Two machines, less waiting
The Mazak Variaxis 630-5X's automatic pallet changer lets us load the next part while the current one is cutting, which keeps spindle time high on production runs. The HAAS UMC-750 handles prototypes and smaller batches alongside it.
Inspected before it ships
Complex parts are verified on our 5-axis CMM, including GD&T callouts such as true position and profile. First-article and full dimensional reports are available so you have documented proof the part matches your drawing.
